Patrick Gilles and Dorothée Boissier are recognized as Gilles Et Boissier, a famous French design studio internationally known for their creative works. Partners in life and in design, each one has a specific role and style, but together they form a unified whole as Gilles Et Boissier, designing some of the most exclusive, inspiring and unique design projects where sophistication meets modernity: one of these interior design projects was the Baccarat Hotel in New York.
This Gilles Et Boissier‘s interior design project has exposed an opportunity to invent something new, to design bespoke furniture and contemporary lights. The design studio was born from the desire to create unique and sophisticated aesthetics.

The two top interior designers were tasked with designing the common areas, spa and 115 modern bedrooms of the first luxury hotel opened by Baccarat, the prestigious newcomer to the extravagant accommodations sector. For the first Baccarat Hotel, Dorothée Boissier and Patrick Gilles decided to emphasize 18th-century design influences, all while bringing out the energy of New York.
Through the contemporary hotel’s decor, Gilles Et Boissier wanted to evoke “the alchemy of the process of making crystal and the extraordinary shimmer of light this material provides,” in the words of Dorothée Boissier. For his part, Patrick Gilles adds that the Baccarat Hotel was “designed like a Parisian hôtel particulier [private mansion] but also as an intimate and warm 21st-century home. The French touch will be felt throughout, as much in the play on forms as in the way the decor unfolds.”
Works of art, including several on the theme of Baccarat’s signature Harcourt glass, are on display throughout the modern hotel. A unique design by Gilles Et Boissier!
